Power Of Testimonies

Que tal todo?

How's it been everyone!! I hope these past two weeks have been great for you guys!!

Patricia:
We hopping right in it. We had a super great lesson with her this last week that kinda changed everything so I'm super excited for the future. She ended up identifying some issues that she was having and some of the obstacles that was creating a problem. We set some amazing goals with her and gave her a fire invitation. I loved what she said during the lesson, to sum it up she basically said "earlier in my life I felt like I had a light about me, and over the years that light has gone away. But when I went to church with you guys I felt like that light came back", It was truly a miracle that she was able to recognize that change and the spirit that was present in the church. One issue we were having with her was that she worked on Sundays at La Pulga (flee market), and she told us that she really wants to come to church again, and she said that there was a job opportunity for a restaurant and she would be able to come to church if she got that job so we have been praying and praying and praying that it works out because she finds out this Tuesday!!! So everyone remember Patricia in your prayers lol.

English Connect:
I don't know if I have talked about this before but a big thing that our mission is pushing currently is English Connect. Where it's a free English class that everyone is invited to. It is either led by member or missionaries, and the English class is about 45min to an hour, and we take about 15 minutes after class and share a spiritual message with everyone. And let me just say those are some of my favorites. Getting everyone talking and teaching just a basic principle like prayer or the Book of Mormon just brings the spirit so strongly. It has also become a great finding source which has just been amazing!!! I'm so grateful for the opportunity to teach that class and become so close with the people that attend.

Today we played some early morning pickle ball and went fishing which was super fun!! Played some board games and basketball at the church!! I love hanging out with the district and just messing around!!

Wanted to finish this off by talking about the power of testimonies. Sharing your testimony is the easiest and fastest way to bring in the spirit so strongly. I have loved watching my own testimony grow through careful study of the Scriptures and prayer. Learning the Doctrine of Christ and building that relationship is something that has touched my heart from the very beginning of my mission. I always look forward for any opportunity to share my testimony during the lesson because it just further bares witness of the Church of Jesus Christ and its truthfulness.

I love you all and hope you have an amazing week!!

Much love,
Elder Harbs

Elder Medina

Aight what's goin' on everyone?!? Hope the last 2 weeks was great, sorry I didn't email last week, I got caught up in a ton of stuff.

So my mission has taken a big ol turn. Decided to change my attitude about everything and I have been 10x more happy and joyful everyday. It's really just a mentality, like most things in life. Choose to be happy everyone, trust me, it works wonders!!!!!

First off, I have a new companion, his name is Elder Medina and he is super dope!! He is really experienced and leaves in 4 month, about the time I've been out.  He is from New Mexico/Texas. He has amazing spanish and english so it's a great wombo combo. I'm super excited for this transfer, we get along great and are doing great work!!

Speaking of great work, my comp ate it so hard on his bike. We were biking and he tried to go up a small curb and ended up going head over heels face first into the concrete. I pulled up to him and he had blood all over him. Don't worry everyone, he's  completely okay, but he was bleeding a ton. I'll put a picture so view discretion is advised..... Also my old comp, (who is still living in our house) ate it hard too. Ended up destroying his elbow and basically his entire arm. He's okay but it's pretty beat up. idk if I'll put a picture of that one cuz it's pretty.... yikes.

Anyway we had a lesson with Patricia this week, and it went really well!! We basically were in the park for like 2 hours for the lesson. It was super long and we were basically answering a ton of questions she has about the Book of Mormon. There were some tough/weird questions I would not have thought of asking, lol, but it was good!! The problem with her is that now she is working and can't come to church anymore which is hard to work around. We are going to have to do something about that here pretty soon. We have another lesson this week so we'll see how it goes.

Also with Jessica, I think we are going to have to drop her. Unfortunately, she's not willing to take the time to come to church even if we provide a ride for her, and she hasn't been reading the Book of Mormon so it's hard to continue teaching her. We are going to try to reignite the flame of motivation she had before, but we'll see.

Today for P-day we are headed to play pickleball with the Sisters because it's one of the Sister's birthday's today!! So I'm super excited for that, along with playing basketball later as well. Went to Walmart at 6 am this morning for groceries.

I hope all is well!! Spanish is coming along nicely, understanding right now is probably the hardest part. Good part is that I can get my point across 90% of the time which is good!! Just trying to keep practicing speaking all the time and exposing myself to a ton of Spanish. So progress is coming!!

Aight everyone, have an amazing week!!!!!

See ya,
Elder Harbertson
