Transfer board dropped and Medina is headed home tomorrow. My new comp is going to be Elder Beckstead, I'm excited to see where this transfer goes, I am staying here in Fort Pierce for now!!
With that out of the way let's talk about some sad/happy news. Well for one, Elizabeth has been ghosting us and I don't know what's up with her. She came to church with her familie again and then she just hasn't been heard of. So we ended up passing by and knocking, however nobody was home sadly. But I had just made and printed out some English class fliers. I made them so good with like a "come worship with us" thing and the church's logo. It looks too good to be true. But we had those and decided to walk around offering the message or English class if they aren't interested. After talking to a few guys, we ended up seeing a guy down the street who waved to us and started walking over. Instantly me and Elder Medina were like "woah this never happens", and talked and got to know him. It was great, his name is Angel, and he is from Honduras, and has talked with missionaries in Honduras before coming to America!! We are super excited to talk with him and get to teaching.
Quick funny story, I was getting absolutely destroyed by the other elders in my district because I said that I like American cheese because it's cheap and tastes good... We'll they thought it was so outrageous that they brought it up during a member meal and the members couldn't take it... So they said they would fund my cheese to help teach me that there are so many better options and how wrong I was lol. So funny, they are a great family!!
Today for Pday, we played so many sports, we got together with a ton of missionaries and played 5v5 basketball, and then after that we played football which was crazy fun!! Tomorrow is when Elder Medina and I part ways, I'm sad to see him go but I'm excited for him to finally go home!! He's been a super amazing companion and a great friend. We will be staying in contact so that will be fun. I'm excited for this next transfer and to hopefully get a bappy.
Real quick spiritual thought, that quote is from Helaman. Here is the scripture, for some context, this is Samuel the Lamanite preaching to the Nephites who have turned their back on the Lord, and this is a small portion of what he says:
38 But behold, your days of probation are past; ye have procrastinated the day of your salvation until it is everlastingly too late, and your destruction is made sure; yea, for ye have sought all the days of your lives for that which ye could not obtain; and ye have sought for happiness in doing iniquity, which thing is contrary to the nature of that righteousness which is in our great and Eternal Head.
How sad is it that these Nephites have spent their entire lives rejecting the Lord and seeking for unholy things to the point that their destruction is set in stone... Luckily for us, it is never too late, because Jesus Christ has come and has done that which makes it so we can become better through him, and through his atonement.
I just want to leave you all with saying that it is never too late. The Lord knows you and loves you perfectly, still waiting with his arms stretched out. How amazing is that? Please remember that no matter where you are or what you're going through, he is there to accept you and to forgive you. You just need to seek him out.
I hope everything is going all good back home and will be keeping you updated on everything. I've gotten pretty bad at emails lately and will do better so I'm sorry for that. I gotta head to bed now but I hope this week is great for everyone!!
