Crazy Week

Okay so this week has been so crazy, lots of ups and downs, highs and lows, but overall it was a pretty good week.

So to start out, I gave away a Book of Mormon all by myself! Elder Anderson and I were riding to one of our upcoming lessons, and I have been starting to start off the conversations between us and some people we find in the street. And that morning I told Elder Anderson that I'm going to give away this Book of Mormon or I'm not going home. So I saw this couple walking with their kid and Elder Anderson was like "this is all you", so I rode up, knees weak, arms are heavy, except mom's spaghetti wasn't quite there (if you get it, you get it). I kicked off the conversation and asked how they were. We kept talking for a min, all in Spanish just so you know, and I asked if they knew what the Book of Mormon was and they actually said they had.  So I asked them if they had one and they said no. So I went right on ahead and pulled mine out for them.  We then got their information and are going to be meeting with them pretty soon, so that's sick!! I rode away after that, so hyped and happy, it felt amazing!!

Today we played a ton of basketball, and it was so fun. A ton of Elders met up at the church and played some full court games on the tiny court. It was a ton of fun and I was hitting my shots which was feeling so good. We also played some pickleball in the morning for exercise which was super fun because it has been so long since I've played and it went super good!! Some time this week Elder Anderson and I are going to go again in the morning and play with a bunch of old people and probably get destroyed.

I became really homesick halfway through last week and it became really hard for me. It hit after a long day of struggling with Spanish, not being able to understand as much as I should.  I couldn't speak to save my life, and when I got home it all fell on me. I ended up getting re-motivated and the rest of the week went super well, so that's awesome!!

We taught a super amazing lesson this week to a guy named Giovanis. His wife is a member, however, she hasn't been to church since moving to Florida, so it has been about a year and a half. They have the cutest kid and the husband is super interested in the church which always feels good. Elder Anderson and I taught the restoration which went super well.  The family was helping me out with Spanish the whole time which is nice because they were very understanding of me trying my best to speak. The Spirit was so strong the entire time, and Giovanis ended up wanting to say the prayer at the end so we taught him how to pray and he did great!! It was funny because when I was reciting the first vision in Joseph Smith's words, she was mouthing it with me which was fun to see.

We have been finding a ton of new people, and normally, there are not a lot of Cubans, but everyone we have been finding have been Cubans and they are my absolute favorite!! They are a lot harder to understand because they slur and speak a ton differently, but I'm so happy we are finding them!!

I hope you are all doing amazing, I'll be keeping you all in my prayers.

Love you all,
Elder Harbertson
